Boiling Point Two, an almost-hour-long DVD containing a powerful speech and a post-Katrina interview with Ross Gelbspan, is now available for you to order. Gelbspan’s presentation details the latest information about climate impacts, the history of obstruction and disinformation by the fossil fuel lobby and the intransigence of the Bush Administration in the face of widespread opposition in the US and, especially, in Europe.
The talk also outlines a set of three policies that could not only reduce emissions by the 70 percent required by nature -- but, at the same time, create millions of jobs around the world, increasing the overall wealth and equity of the global economy and providing a platform to bring the countries of the world around a common global project.
Finally, the DVD features a current update about the relationship between global warming and the hurricanes that devastated New Orleans and the Gulf Coast this summer.
For those who don’t know him, Ross Gelbspan is a Pulitzer Prize winning journalist and one of the country's pre-eminent experts on global warming. In 1998, he published The Heat Is On: the Climate Crisis, the Cover-Up, the Prescription. The book, which topped the Times list of recommended books for four weeks, was also cited by Discover Magazine as one of the top 10 books of the year.
In the last 10 years, Gelbspan has won rave reviews for his presentations. He has delivered about 40 talks each year in addition to appearing on about 40 radio and TV programs a year.
